Childrens Workforce
The Children's Workforce brings together people working with children and young people in health, social care, education, justice and community safety, youth work, play and other related areas.
Our role is to work closely with these partner organisations to help create a workforce that supports integrated and coherent services for children, young people and their families.
Common core refreshed to meet the needs of today's workforceThe Children's Workforce Development Council (CWDC) has launched a refresh of the common core of skills and knowledge that everyone working with children, young people and families should have.
Following wide consultation with children and young people and those who work with them, the common core has recently been refreshed to meet the needs of today's workforce.
As a result of the input of the workforce, the common core is now more relevant than ever. Most importantly, the six areas of expertise in the common core provide an essential foundation that supports an integrated approach to working.
By using the refreshed common core - for example, in determining the development needs of staff or defining a job description - you and your team can ensure we're all working in the same way with shared aims and values.
