There are currently more than 29,600 staff that work in the support and administration of the Courts and Tribunals across the UK. We work to ensure a high level of skills and competence for this workforce, working closely with the Ministry of Justice, the Tribunals Service, Her Majesty's Court Service, Scottish Courts Service and Northern Ireland Courts service.

We have adapted the Courts suite of National Occupational Standards (NOS) in order to ensure that they are suitable for use by staff within the Tribunals Service. The success of this project has meant that the new suite of NOS has been approved and they are now available on the NOS Finder.

As part of the wider Service Level agreement with the Ministry of Justice, we are working towards a variety of interventions for staff to deliver the Skills Pledge. These include the roll out of the justice related vocational qualifications such as the Courts and Tribunals Administration NVQ level two and the Witness Care NVQ at Level 3.
