Today sees young people up and down the country receiving their A-Level and Advanced Diploma results. This is the first time that the two-year Advanced Diploma courses have been examined and a positive set of results shows the success of this new qualification.

The QCF and vocational qualification reform
Vocational Qualifications are changing... Employers need employees with the right skills, in the right place, at the right time. In order to achieve this, work-related qualifications have been reformed to better meet the needs of employers, employees and people entering work. Qualifications are now based on what employers need and what learners can easily access whilst including the best parts of existing vocational qualifications. Fundamentally, they bring choice, clarity and confidence to vocational qualifications.

New website to help improve communication with young people in the youth justice system
The Communication Trust is pleased to announce the launch of the Sentence Trouble website, www.sentencetrouble.info. The website has been created to support the Sentence Trouble booklet launched in November 2009 which helps improve understanding and communication with children and young people, particularly those with communication needs. The website provides additional resources and support for staff working in the youth justice system.
